 AVORY  JORDAN  IS  STRICKEN
 ----------
 Former Edinburg Resident
 Dies at Daughter's Residence
 ----------
          Avory Jordan, seventy-nine years old, former resident of Edinburg, died at the 
home of his daughter,  Mrs. Ethel Schnarr, in Flat Rock at 10:30 o'clock this morning 
after a short illness.
            The deceased was born in Bartholomew county August 18, 1855, the son of 
Mr. and Mrs. William Avery Jordan.  He had been a resident of Edinburg for twenty-
five years, going to Flat Rock last November to live.  Mr. Jordan was married to  Effie 
Phelps  whose death occurred in November, 1934.  He was an active member of the 
Edinburg M. E. Church.
           Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Ethel Schnarr, three grandchildren, and 
seven great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be announced later.

 SERVICES  TO  BE  FRIDAY

          Funeral services for  Avory Jordan, who died Wednesday in Flat Rock, will be 
conducted at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Edinburg M.E. Church with burial in 
Rest Haven cemetery in Edinburg.  Mr. Jordan, a former resident of Edinnburg, died at 
the home of his daughter,  Mrs. Ethel Schnarr.
